Loma Linda Spring 2012 Quarter! :)

Published

Has anyone applied to LLU for the Spring Quarter 2012? Submitted my application and had my interview...so now the waiting begins :( Is anyone else in the same boat?

Thanks!! I got a C in Anatomy though. That's the only thing I'm worried about. I got A's in every other science class but I can't get over the C in Anatomy.

Do you live around Loma Linda?

Dont stress too much.

No, not really. I live in Pasadena so I will prob have to move out closer to campus. I dont want to commute 2 hrs a day!

I live in Temecula, so it would be about an hour drive. I was deciding between moving or commuting. I'm not thinking too much about it though yet! I'm curious how many people have applied so far? Did --- say anything?

She didnt say how many had applied, but she did say that approx 150 are interviewed and 100 will be reviewed by the committee in January. Of those approx 50 will be accepted

That makes sense. Well, hoping for the best! It's going to be a long month :)

I've been accepted for Loma Linda's Pipeline Program Winter 2012. I'm really excited I have to take some basic pre-nursing classes in January and I have a guaranteed along with 9 others in the program to start the Spring 2012 nursing program. I hope to see you guys in March :)

Oh, that's awesome. How do you get into that program? What was your GPA?

The School of Nursing decides to put you in the program. If you haven't had your interview ask ---- about it and she gives you a ton of information, if you already had it I definitely recommend calling and asking her about it and if you could be considered for the pipeline program if they decide not to accept you for the quarter of nursing you apply to.

From what I understand the Pipeline Program is for students who don't meet or barely meet the requirements. You take 6 basic pre-nursing classes to help reinforce your skills and prepare you for nursing school. You also get a $3,000 scholarship. Once you pass those classes you have a guaranteed spot in the next quarter of nursing clinicals.

My overall GPA wasn't awesome cumulative i had about a 3.1 my pre-reqs were all As and B's except one C in Micro I hated that class. My mom had just graduated from the RN to BSN Program there so I made sure I mentioned that in my interview. Teas was an 84 I think I had good recommendation letters, Volunteer Experience at the Hospital, and Experience as a CNA.

That's good to know! I definitely will talk to ----. I have about a 3.5 GPA but my Anatomy grade is a C. The Pipeline program is definitely something I am interested in. I wonder if they have it for this Spring quarter...which means I would be accepted into the Fall quarter.

Yea they offer it to every quarter 10 spots each. I originally applied Fall 2011 was put on the waiting list didn't get in and then received a email first then the letter that I was accepted into the Winter 2012 Pipeline program :)

Hi, I applied for the Winter 2012 quarter and was accepted. Unfortunately, due to finances, I had to withdraw.

I got my acceptance letter a few days before xmas! Im enrolling for the spring!
