Does anyone know what Locus of control is?

What is Locus in control referring to? What area are you studying right now? That might help somebody figure it out.
It doesn't ring a bell with me.

Hope this helps.. This is directly from my fundamentals of nursing book. Locus of control is a concept from social learning theory that nurses can use to determine whether clients are likely to take action regarding health, that is, whether clients beleive that their health status is under their own control or others control.
