Local Anesthetic Toxicity Symptoms

Published

Hi everyone,

Doing a quiz and need some help with ordering the symptoms of local anesthetic toxicity in the order they occur.

Here is the order I think, after some reading, but can't seem to get right:

1) Light-headed, visual disturbances

2) Parathesia around mouth and tongue

3) Twitching of fingers and mouth

4) Convulsions

5) Loss of consciousness

6) Respiratory arrest

7) Cardiac arrest

Thanks for any input :)

Thanks for having a look guys. Managed to get the right answer which, according to the quiz, was:

1) Parathesia around mouth and tongue

2) Light-headed, visual disturbances

3) Twitching of fingers and mouth

4) Loss of consciousness

5) Convulsions

6) Respiratory arrest

7) Cardiac arrest

Welcome to AN! The largest online nursing community!

We are always happy to help and we ask all students to post their work first and share what the research has revealed to you.

This is NOT the forum to ask someone to do your homework for you. When asking for assistance with an assignment, please show what you have done first.
I caution you about asking for help with "quizzes" as many schools do not want these to be collaborative efforts even when they are "take home" exams. Allnurses, while anonymous, is public and can be searched (and seen) by anyone.

While I believe most of allnurses members are nurses....on an anonymous site you can never be sure to whom you are speaking or getting answers from.
