LIU Brooklyn Fall 2020 Class (Traditional BSN Program)

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi everyone, I wanted to start this up to see who else got accepted into LIU BK's BSN program for the Fall 2020 semester. That way, we can exchange information with one another in regards to the program. I am a transfer student who just finished my bachelor's from LIU Post. ?‍⚕️

I got accepted into the generic program for the Fall semester even though I applied to the accelerated. Some of the admissions counselors have told me that I can transfer to the accelerated after the first semester at LIU in the generic program and get re-evaluated. I’m just wondering if it’s true or if they’re just saying this so that I pick their program. I tried to find threads on it but I couldn’t find any helpful info. Let me know if anyone can help me.

Edit

@parker57 I was told the exact same thing. I can’t get in touch with anyone on any info regarding this program. Administration sucks

Hey! Just some advice from a current student - if you have the option, go somewhere else! Like you said, the administration sucks and you will never get a straight answer. You may be able to graduate the same time as the accelerated students if they allow you to take Summer classes, but they pick and choose who is allowed to do that. The lack of professionalism and organization at this school is not worth the stress when nursing school is already difficult enough. Hope this helps!

Thank you for your response and help. I applied to NYU but haven't received an answer yet and LIU is cheaper so I'll most likely go to LIU. I was wondering what are the requirements to be able to enroll in Summer classes? I really want to graduate asap hence I reason for wanting to transfer to the accelerated. I'm speaking to one of the advisors right now and she is terrible. I received an email stating that I have been accepted but she is telling me that it is on a conditional basis and that I will need to submit my transcript with all my grades. I am unable to do that right now as I am taking my last requisite course during the Summer and I need to enroll in classes for the Fall. Is there any tips you can give me to speak to someone who can actually help me? It's stressing me out.
Thanks again for the help.

@bbbbrii Were you able to get in touch with anyone and were you able to enroll in classes yet?

Hi! Thanks for this tip, could you also let us know how your classes have been? Have you been strictly remote? And how do they have you doing your clinicals? Thanks so much !

Hey! We have been strictly remote with the opportunity to go to the campus for simulation labs twice throughout the semester. All of our clinicals are online, which is frustrating because most other schools are doing in person clinical. There has been a lot of extra assignments to make up for not being in person which is insane. I do not feel they have handled this pandemic to the best of their ability.

Hi! Your info was so helpful last time I really appreciate! I just registered for classes and I was curious if they informed you guys of any accommodations this Spring to be able to be remote? If so can you please share the link or how to request the remote option

Hey all. I am beginning my first semester as a nursing student in February. I just wanted to know if there are any PDFs out there of the textbooks for Informatics, Pharmacology, Pathophysiology, Health Assessment, and Contemporary topics, or if the textbooks are even helpful for the course at all. There are a lot of textbooks and access codes required and it is going to be super expensive. Just trying to find the cheapest options for myself. Thanks!

Hi! I’m a level 2 BSN student at brooklyn. the only ones you truly need/have to buy are the informatics coursepoint (it has the textbook with the modules in it), and the  pathophysiology book (can find a amazon rental for cheap). send me your email and I’d be happy to share the other e-textbooks with you.
