I will do my OB rotaion in JAnuary. I can not afford to get my book yet, and was wondering if you would mind listing some of the common ones. I know that pictocin and oxytocin are two of them.
Just list the common drugs you use every day. Don't give me any info on them, I want to look it up myself.

I just finished my OB rotation last semester. My clinical instructor gave me the following list of drugs to know before beginning our L&D shift:
Pitocin, Stadol, Demerol, Magnesium Sulfate and the antidote Calcium Gluconate , Terbutaline, and Fentanyl
For Post Partum we had to know these drugs:
Methergine, Simethicone/Mylicon, RhoGam, Rubella, Vicodin, Duramorph, and Fentanyl

That was cute! We use caffeine drips on patients with spinal headaches before the blood patch or on those patients who elect not to have a blood patch done to alleviate the pain. If lying down, increasing fluids and fluids with caffeine doesn't help, the caffeine drip sometimes does. I am a fan of the blood patch, myself when it comes to alleviating that horrible headache..
