Limited work experience in Ph

Nurses Retired

I just came to Alaska a week ago from the state of Texas. I was actually from the Philippines. Came to US last Feb, 2014. I had a hard time transferring my license in Texas since i only worked in the Philippines for 4 months as a registered nurse and I am a nurse for 4 years going 5 next year. I just wonder if Alaska BON will consider my application for license by examination. I graduated 2009 in the Philippines and took the board and passed last 2010. Will they require me of some refresher courses or schooling? I'm really confused and I'm starting to lose hope. Any comments or advice will be highly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Kabayan you need to check the alaska board of nursing first because every state board of nursing has different requirements for international nurses.some bon will let u take the nclex without taking refresher course as long as their not the one who will evaluate your credentials.then if you pass the nclex it's up to you if you want to take refresher course.hope that helps.

Hi there!

Just wondering. Did you get your immigrant visa/green card through an employment based petition / EB3? Because if you did, I'd like to ask you a couple of questions. I also have limited work experience but my papers are now in process under the EB3 category.

Thanks!
