Lift Team Salary?

Published

Hello, I am a Lift Team Tech at TGH. I am also EMT and in school for Fire Fighting. I absolutely love my job as a lift team tech, but has the call volume increases my days are none stop for 12 hours with only a 30 min lunch break. At $10.00/hour i don't think its worth the pain i come home with every night, let alone the nurses being upset when we are running 30-45 min's behind because of heavy call volume. We have three teams per shift and handle a total of 200 to 225 patients per shift. I am interested in finding out who much your Lift Team members making per hour or salary at your hospital? What do you think i should make with my experience and passion for this position?

Thanks

I did clinicals at many of the facilities surrounding TGH in Tampa and Pinellas, and they did not have a Lift Team specifically to assist the nurses in turning and moving patient's. Unless they have recently put a team into place it may be hard to get a local comparison. I remember when we didn't have a lift team at TGH and I am thankful for your help. I haven't needed to page the lift team due to the help of the other nurses in the unit. All though, I will use your assistance when you guys make your rounds (mostly at 5a). :) If I have to page you guys sometime I am not going to get upset because you're buisy!!!! I will just ask the other nurses to give me a hand. :D
