Hi everyone!
I was just curious about some things. I am about to start NS school in the fall and my school has the curriculum set up this way. The initial year, you earn your LPN. If you have a 3.0, you are reserved a spot in the RN program (which would be 2 regular semesters and a summer). You may also opt to graduate with your LPN and not continue. There is a semester break in between them and most people take other classes at that time to either lessen the RN load or prepare for the requirements for BSN.
My question would be this: In the scenario I mentioned, do people normally try to take the nclex-pn, then finish their RN, then take the nclex-rn? I was hoping to work as an lpn next year (if I pass the exam), but I am not too sure how long it usually takes to study for the exam.
Many thanks!

that is how my school was too. you signed up for either LPN or RN program. BUT. if you dont want to continue when already signed up for the RN program, you dont have to. If you sign up for the LPN and want to continue, you can request from the dean to keep going in line with your class you are already with. Most of the time there are only a few ppl that decide to do that out of the entire class. we did have 1 in my semester that wanted to continue on, and she did,and did great and stayed with the class she started with.
there is always flexability! ESP in Nursing!!
