I live in Idaho and have an active LVN license I've worked under until just recently in anticipation of my move which will be on the 20th..in a couple weeks. I graduate from my RN program on the 16th. I'll be taking my boards in Texas. I need to work asap but I'm SO CONFUSED as to how this works! The website says that it's going to take 10 days after receipt of everything they need for a temp license to show up on their website. But it's going to cost me $200.00 to transfer my LVN license!! Then I have to pay $200.00 to take my boards. And another $139.00 for my RN license. I absolutely cannot afford that if I'm not working while I'm waiting for my license.
How in the world do I do this? Does anyone have any experience with this?
Thanks so much!

If you plan to keep your LVN licensure, you'll have to pay all of the fees and do everything that is required in order to obtain a Texas LVN license by endorsement.
If you plan to obtain licensure as an RN in Texas, you'll need to pay all of the fees and go through the process of obtaining a Texas RN license by examination.
Since Idaho and Texas are both compact states, you can legally work as an LVN in Texas under your Idaho LPN license for approximately 30 days. After this 30 day window has passed, you must have a Texas LVN license to continue working legally in Texas.
