Hello retired nurse friends. I recently retired from my public health job and will start collecting social security in January. I have the opportunity to care for an elderly lady 2 mornings a week-just personal care for one hour. My Liability Insurance has expired so I was looking to renew however it requires a full time job in the application. If I choose self employed, the policy is $1000. I’m looking for your thoughts, experience, on getting liability insurance for this small per diem work. Thank you!

In PA, I work perdiem about 6hrs month and have nursing Liability Insurance for ~$120/year via Proliability.
CMF gives a discount to AN members: https://www.cmfgroup.com/about-cm-f/cmf-partners/allnurses-members/ they also have individual coverage.
NSO another company AN members use.
Cost of a policy is based on type of nursing performed and state location.
