Hi guys, sorry for all the questions, I am just a mess, huh?
Well,
I am in IPN and recently been released to work. I had an interview the other day. The interview went great, and she had no issue with me being in IPN. She initiated a "level two background check " and I am awaiting that. This is the same background check that the nursing board did about a year ago when I applied for licensure. However, I have a question/concern about this level 2 background check. I have two old ARRESTS (not convictions) on my record from 2007 and 2009. They are from Missouri. The one in 2007 was just an arrest, and the 2009 was a second degree robbery that was NOT convicted. In missouri they have a sunshine law where I was given something called SIS probation. It means that if you serve the probation without any incident then you do not get convicted. I did so successfully and I was never convicted.
I am very worried about the level two check.
I know there is some sort of a disqualification list.. if I was only arrested and not convicted of the robbery, I wonder if I will be ok?
Also, this very same background check was done when i applied for nursing license here in FL. If it was on the disqualification list, wouldn't they have refused a license?
If anyone knows, It is greatly appreciated.
Thanks guys
Well in case anyone cares, I got the news that I was deemed ineligible by ACHA.
I freaked out and called to find out what to do. They asked if I was already licensed by the BON. I let them know I was and they explained that I needed to fill out a form asking for exemption. They said the odds that I will get it will be pretty good. So I think the crisis might be averted?
Ill keep updating this thread, because although no one replied, I want to follow up in case someone is ever in the same boat. Its really helpful to read others experiences and if I can help someone then I will :)
*fingers crossed

There was a nurse in my IPN group who had a felony and needed a level 2 background to work home health he did get an exemption. It wasn't a problem, just more paperwork. He is out of IPN now. I now it is has been done successfully. It sounds like your job wants you.
Good luck
Gabby
Thanks for the reply.
Your comment gives me hope that things will be ok for me also.
I will update when I get response regarding exemption determination.
