  1. I have also been through the medication debate with IPN… When I was first being evaluated, they try to tell me that I would not be allowed to be on my daily methadone. I take it for opioid dependence. And I have been tapering down and trying to transition to come off of it, but not because of IPN. I was doing it before IPn. I will tell you that you may be able to stay on your medication, however you will have to do an additional a valuation and some cognitive testing to make sure that your medication does not impair you. What it all boils down to for me was that I had to do two extra valuations and you know how costly they are. If there is anything I can help you with, regarding IPN, please let me know . It sure is not easy, especially in the beginning… But it is obtainable and do-able. Good luck í ½í¸ƒ
  2. I would immediately go and get myself a drug test… Depending on how long it was that they tried to test you and your fuse, I would get a hair follicle test. That will take away any suspicion that you might've been positive and it might now be out of your system. Good luck and keep us posted
  3. HI. I used to take suboxone, however I now am back on Methadone after my last relapse. I have been back on methadone since april of 2015. Not only does my BON know about my RX, but I was hired after a pre employment drug screen showed it in my system. I provided documentation and there I went. Been working ever since :) good luck!
  4. Google "clinical solutions " and look for their FL iv therapy cert class .. I was IV certified in the state of Missouri, and when I went to Florida I called the board and asked if it would transfer and I could never get a straight answer. Our IV certification courses in Missouri are built into our nursing school so there wasn't a certificate or anything that I could just show them to show that I was so I just decided to take it over. I took the course and I liked it because it wasn't three or four days like many of the other courses… It was only supposed to be two days long because you do a short on line portion that is provided by them for you, before you attend the course. Also our class ended up being small so we got it all done in one day instead of two.
  5. I use my apple watch, you can change the faces.. there are many choices and you can switch out watch faces and pick one with a second hand. I love it! Plus everything from my phone is right there at my fingertips!
  6. I am in South West FL, and the wage for nurses here is based on experience.. its like 0-1 year = 19/hour 1-3 is 22/hour and so on... I am talking about in facilities such as Rehab/LTC/Post acute care etc.. I am sure dr office would be much lower. I know Dr. Office for LPN in Missouri started out at 13 an hour! What a joke!!!!!!
  7. Hi there. Sorry to hear of your troubles. You stated that you dont want to admit to having a substance use disorder, and thats ok, because addiction is a self diagnosed disease, however, I would like to point out that people who dont have substance abuse issues usually dont "try" cocaine over the weekend, and get fired for diverting. I am not trying to be be rude or mean, I just think you need to look at the situation a little more. When I started going to 12 step meetings for my addiction, I would see people there with no teeth and people who have done way worse things than I have due to their disease and I would separate myself from them. I thought I was different. I was told early on that I needed to look at the similarities and not the differences. Everyones story is not the same. This is where ACCEPTANCE comes in. Again, I cannot tell you if you have substance abuse issues or not, but I think its something worth looking at. I think this is really helpful reading: https://www.na.org/admin/include/spaw2/uploads/pdf/litfiles/us_english/IP/EN3107.pdf I am in a monitoring program for 5 years.. for something that occurred before I even went to nursing school. It is easy to look at others and think that they deserve to be in the program more than you, but I try to look at it as extra accountability. Look at it not as "I HAVE to do this," but rather "I GET to do this" to keep my license and continue doing what I love. Good luck!
  8. WOW! That is crazy!!!!1 How does one pull that off.. not once, but twice?! Did she even have a medical background at all? Like did she do anything else (aid, or ma) before she "became a nurse?" I am sorry that this happened. I can imagine how hard it would be to think you know someone, then you realize you really just have no idea!
  9. How are you going to tell me I neglected to include things? I did tell him that I had sent for documents? I have been working on this issue for a long time, and I have been through many, many hoops. And what are you talking about don't do the crime if you can't do the time? I clearly DID the time. AND I WASNT CONVICTED. I apologize that you don't understand whats going on with my situation. It is more complex than just having a criminal record. This was from 7 years ago and has been closed and sealed. I am not a convicted felon. Florida is not familiar with this type of situation (SIS) and I had been working on it and got no response. Also, the nursing board was already aware of this and had granted me licensure, then only to deny me for an exemption using the same criminal history. And I had been on probation long enough- I completed it successfully? I dont know what youre talking about at all. I dont see the point of your posts?
  10. Thanks babe! I appreciate your support and always cheering me on :)
  11. I responded to you in the other thread regarding support groups for nursing board issues. I would copy and paste but it won't let me lol
  12. I have a rocky past as well, and I have applied for licensure in two states over the years. In my case, I submitted documents for EVERYTHING, but everyone is different. When you do, you should also include statements to explain what happened in each of the cases. Let them know what you've been doing and how you've changed your life. It is likely that they will order you to do a drug an alcohol evaluation upon receipt of the application/documents. I would just fill out the application honestly, and wait for their response. They will tell you what you need to do and send. Good luck, and try not to get discouraged. You may have to jump through many hoops, but I am living proof that is totally do-able! :)
  13. Hi guys... I am writing with GOOD NEWS! So, I waited on signed the retainer agreement with the attorney and I managed to get the court to write a letter explaining the type of probation and that I was never convicted. I emailed the documents to the board and I was granted the exemption yesterday!!!! I am happy ! I honestly thought Id never get it.. and here I am, and I didn't have to pay the $1,500 retainer plus $220 an hour to an attorney to get it done! I have an interview today at 2pm, and then I have to go back and see the lady that offered me a job originally (that started this whole thing,) tomorrow.. she wants me to bring her the exemption letter and hopefully we can move forward. I also got a call back for a dialysis position! I am so hopeful and grateful right now. I sent the lady at the court clerks office a Thank you card because she really went out of her way to write that letter for me! :)
  14. Oh man. I am not in PEER, as i am in FL, however I am not sure that not providing would ever be an option for us here. Just to clarify: did you say that THEY basically sent you away?
