Lets Talk Money...

I was looking around the internet for something that estimated the salary of a new grad in my city/state. Well I found it and I was awful shocked. It's insanely higher than I am/will be making anytime soon. May I ask, for those of you who are or were recently (lets say past five years) new grads with no experience, what was your starting wage p/hr, where do you live, and on what unit do you work?

I'll join in...

$23 base but $26.5 with 11p-7a diff, Texas, Adult Acute Psych (freestanding private facility)

Hopefully there are a few responses as I am very curious!

dang......maybe I shouln't finish getting my RN (currently in bridge). I make 25/hr as a LPN LTC unit manager. Don't tell me I wont make more as an RN.......gezzzzzz :crying2:

You may not make more. I have worked with aides, unit clerks, LPNs, etc. that have worked somewhere for years and years and when they started in a new position they started at entry-didn't keep their much-earned rasies over the years......personally I would negotiate base pay plus all of the % of raises or at least a portion of those raises over the years. Not sure if they would do that nowadays :-(

try again, I worked in phoenix a few months ago, new grads non accute don't make those wages.:lol2:

I do..I have no reason to make up wages...that's what my hospital pays no matter what area you work as an RN...not sure about the other hospitals in the area. :)

How much does that Phoenix hospital pay very experienced nurses. Staff-ICU/Tele with 21 yrs. experience?

I get $53/hr day shift here in Chicago, but I hate Chicago.
