Let's encourage each other.

I know that a lot of the times as School Nurse's we feel isolated and cast aside in our building. I often feel used and taken for granted. I have been doing this for a long time now, but that empty feeling never goes away.

We work solo, for the most part and we are not educators (although we do a lot of teaching). We are constantly under fire from the teachers who disagree with our point of view and by parents who quite often just don't give a dang about their sick child.

It is disheartening and we bear it all each day, keeping quiet and doing our best.

I would like to start a post that encourages each one of us. Please join me !

THANK YOU ALL FOR THE SUPPORT, LOVE AND LAUGHS THAT YOU EACH SUPPLY ME EACH DAY ! SOME DAY'S YOU ARE THE ONLY BRIGHT SPOT IN MY DAY !

The other day I was in a thread on general and I mentioned something about being here for my friends, and some uninformed poster was all "You come here to hang out with your CYBER FIENDS?" as if that's supposed to embarrass me.

Not all. I have made some amazing friends here, some I speak to every day, but you guys are my crew, ya know?

In the group hugs? Just ignore the handsiness. I'm checking your pulses.

I felt kind of "looked down upon" by my ER co-workers when I left the ER to take this job. All I can say is they have NO IDEA what it's like to be a school nurse. No. Idea.

And I appreciate you people on a daily basis. I'd say lets have a group hug, but I fear (hope?) some of us might get a little "handsy" in the pile-up. You know who you are.

I would never...well maybe just a little :)

Yes! And there are pulses EVERYWHERE!

Now I'm off until Tuesday. Nice knowing you all...

I can't really add anymore to this thread. But, I am so thankful I found you all. I really don't know how I have survived all these lonely years without you ALL!! I am surprised that Far didn't suggest a Flying Tackle Group Hug!!! :)

That's a euphemism for my wife and I. :bag: Have a nice long weekend.

When I reach that point in the day (sometimes it's 30 seconds after I enter the building) that I want to strangle a parent, a student, a teacher or an administrator you guys are the ones I need for sanity, comic relief and just a sense of calm again. I would never be able to do this job without you!

Have a nice few days off!
