Lehman College Nursing program(application process and requirements)

Published

I am applying to the generic nursing program at lehman this spring and I recently took the Hesi. my scores were: MATH-96, A&P-100, READING-90 and CT-77

My prereq GPA is a 4.0 so far, but im taking Microbiology this semester (and hoping it doesn't mess up my GPA).

I have a few questions: Do you think the 77 on CT will significantly lower my chances of getting into the program?

The nursing application asks for a general education form that shows completion of all the general ed. however, I think im missing one writing intensive class. I signed up for academic advisement and crossing my fingers im not missing anything. All of my writing intensive English courses transferred from another cuny school (city college) but the academic advisor told me that even though I received the credit, that the writing intensive courses don't count unless I took them at Lehman.

I am really worried. I don't want to have to wait one whole year to apply because of one class that has nothing to do with my major :/

If I am being honest, the 77 will probably lower your chances. I believe someone on here received below an 80 on the CT part of the Hesi and they did not get it. Hopefully, they will disregard that because your GPA is pretty amazing.

Writing Intensive courses do not matter to get into the Nursing program but they matter if you want to graduate from Lehman college. It will be hard to do both writing intensive classes and nursing classes. Try to take summer and winter writing intensive classes and see how that goes.

Try to retake it. I have a 3.73 GPA and applied last year, but I got a 760 on the CT section. They sent me a rejection notice last year saying that I didn't get in because my CT score was under an 800. Your GPA is awesome, so I hope they don't hold that stupid section against you. Again, try retaking the exam.
