Specializes in OR, Nursing Professional Development.

A pre-licensure program that is 100% online will not exist- there absolutely must be an in-person clinical component in order to meet BON requirements for NCLEX eligibility. For some programs, everything is online except for a very brief yet very intense clinical component. The biggest caution with those programs is that not all states will license graduates of those programs.

Programs that are approved by your state's BON should be able to be found on the BON website. For programs that take the voluntary step further and become accredited, you can search the ACEN and CCNE sites.

I would also recommend researching the job market in your area or the area you plan to live after completing a program, passing NCLEX, and becoming licensed. In some areas that are very competitive, finding a job with an ADN may prove difficult as facilities are opting to hire BSNs, either through requirement stated in the job posting or by preference when sorting through applications.
