Can anyone provide me with information on legal nurse consulting? I have a background as a legal assistant and would like to try to get started doing this on the side. I may not have the experience in nursing yet, but plenty in legal. I will probably get certified after I finish my BSN (approx. 1 year). Thanks!

Tina,
Thank you for your reply. No, I have never lived in Warren, but I know that other Luomas, (Nor relation) reside in that are. There was one that I kept hearing about that was violent etc., and was sent to the supermax prison up in NE Ohio. But no, never been there. Luoma is actually a Finnish name.
So are you going to become a legal Consultant? I have not figured out how to place these smiley icons in the right place. Anyway, I am doing the legal conbsult thing now but have no active cases. The last was in September 03 about a malpractice action in the Ohio Court of Cliams. The State prison system was using Baycol ( a cholesterol reducer) six months after it was revoked by the FDA. It was killing many people so taken off the market. The guy I testified for won. Anyway, contact me again.

WOW Luomas around here were not good huh? I just remember the name.
Yeah, I want to do the nurse consulting thing. I have experience as a legal assistant and hold a paralegal certificate. I am speaking at a paralegal seminar in June. Right now I am finishing my BSN, then I want to get my certificate for nursing consulting. I also plan to get my CRNA. I figure I can do nurse consulting while in school for the CRNA. I have a pretty good understanding of the drips we use, recovering post open heart patients, etc. I figure I can research what I do not know. I work at the Cleveland Clinic and everyone there is very helpful when you have questions.
Talk to you another time.

I have a presentation over collective bargaining. I figured this was right up a LNC's alley, I have to find pros and cons for collective bargaining. I have found plenty of information on the pros of collective bargaining, however I was wondering about the cons. Not too many associations post the cons to collective bargaining. Has anyone here had any negative experiences when using collective bargaining.
Thanks,
Laurie
