Legal help for nurses

Nurses General Nursing

Published

I was involved in an incident with a MD that was on cocaine. Hx. of drug rehab.

Long story I reported this man for fear that he would harm a patient.

It was out of control. His partners(who I never dreamed of this) took his side. He reported me for phoning in a narcotic(that was a rule not followed by this office----nurses had this as a job in the facility.

Well he(they) turned the attention to me with bogas accusations. I have and still can proove them wrong. I was threatened by these people in writing! I had to deal with the police dept and the nursing board.

In person at the nursing board, I was told that this facility should be shut down for what was going on there. In the mean time the MD has been to rehab 3 more times----in trouble with the law, and each times goes back to practicing medicine. He hurt my rep as a nurse very bad.

So it will be 7 years in April that the incident took place. How can I go about getting this off of my police record???? He had no problem returning to work each time. I'm sick of this. I have documentation from him and the office proving they were wrong. What I dont have are the "political" pull. Any advice will be helpful! Thanks!:angryfire

I do not understand how you have a police record from this. It does not matter if I understand though because NO ONE on this board can give you the answers you need. You need to talk to an attorney. You are asking for legal advice. Even if this board was nothing but lawyers a lawyer would not give you legal advise on a internet bulletin board.

Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.

Sorry but we are unable to give legal advice on this board.
