Hi All,

I have been a nurse for 5 1/2 years. I started out in pediatric hem/onc then went to peds hospice and back to peds PACU. After 2 years of being frustrated with peds I went to adult agency just to get my adult legs back. I have been in adult MICU for a little over 3 years. I had to leave due to some health problems. I sent out some resumes since I have been feeling much better the last several months. I got hired by a HHA and I just had an orientation day today in the office. I feel so overwhelmed. I mean it is so totally different. I did home care for hospice but that is different too. I have my CCRN so it's not like I am not up for a challenge or that I am a slacker or lazy about learning new things. But when I left today I had a very sinking feeling. Then I got a call from an IVF clinic about an interview with them. I feel really confused and I am so anxious that I cannot sleep. I talked to a friend that left my unit and went to HH and she loves it!!!! But then she has over 20 years of nursing experience and I consider her to be one of the best RN's that I have worked with ever. Do you think it is nerves or is my gut nervous feeling a "real gut feeling" of don't do it? My friend said to go on the other interview and just check it out and keep my options open. She said if you try something and don't like it, it's ok. You don't have to be stuck anywhere.

Thanks for listening. I really appreciate the support .

Oh, I would hate to be in your shoes. How is the employment picture in your area? I would go to the other interview and leave my options open. If you get an offer for the other, or not, either way, you are going to have to work at either of these options long enough to be able to make a decision. Also remember that it does not have to be all or nothing. If you decide to leave, leave on good terms and in the future you will be able to return if the occasion arises.

Thanks caliotter. I am going to call about the other interview. I think I should always follow my gut instincts in cases like this. I hope everything turns out for the best.
