Hello,
I recently left my teaching position. I taught pre-k and kindergarten for three years. While there are certain things I love about teaching... I mostly found myself bored and not really enjoying the job like my co-workers. Before teaching I completed one semester of nursing school but left because I didn't have enough money to continue. I would love to return to nursing school. However, I'm concerned about the treatment of nurses. I have seen many nurses talk about the working conditions nurses are facing right now and many are quitting the profession entirely. Teaching in my experience was not ideal; we are very much exploited. Am I crazy for pursuing nursing again?

I know this is late, but I had teachers in my program. You can incorporate both. There are clinical educators in each unit (usually). Also, there are a nurse educator department in the hospital. Lastly, there is a MSN in Education for nurses. Come over, we need your skillset!

It depends on a variety of factors, but nursing is a super flexible career.

Hi there, my first degree was in elementary education (taught in a pre-k) and I also went back for nursing. I cannot say you are crazy because that was exactly my path, LOL. Nurses and teachers are both overworked professions however in nursing there is a ton of flexibility, depending on where you go there are unions, and there are also elements of patient education in every interaction. Good luck!
