Any advice on media or texts to get a better handle on the use of ultrasound in the ICU. Beyond just central / arterial line insertion but for assessing lungs, volume status and the likes.
Feel like besides just handling technique, sometimes I just find it difficult to really grasp what I am seeing. Wondering if there are any useful texts worth the time or just continued practice.

I feel like just continued practice is what will help. We learned it as part of our bi-annual course with the new fellows and our attendings teach it. I also think it could be helpful if you shadow a sonographer on your day off. The texts from SCCM are quite expensive.
As far as texts, I know this author but I've never purchased the book: https://itunes.apple.com/us/book/the-icu-ultrasound-pocket-book/id957153627?mt=11
And of course, there are always CME courses:
