lo
I'm in the process of getting on a mentor-ship module. in the mean time we have students on our ward. i have always genlty enjoyed sharing my knowledge skills with pt co-worker, and students even when i was still a student.
my own learning style is to read up watch and get stuck in, however each skill i approached was when i kinda felt right.
my best mentor for me gently encouraged got me to do new skills while i felt supported and not abandoned i figure that is the best way but query is it.
can a mentor be overly influenced by their learning style.
What making me think is a final placement student asked to stay with me for a 2nd shift even though I had her do meds notes and handover her pts( i did discuss what information handover would need and what was important to add to notes)
maybe i should ask students.
how to balance protecting the pt by supervising a student yet give someone space to learn
kinda reflecting i guess, i may not have a student for a shift for a while.
