LEAP Certificate Pathway Summer 2024

Nursing Students SRNA

Hello All!

Is anyone applying to the Summer 2024 LEAP program and has insight in the program and interview process? Applications are due in almost a month and from what I read the interviews come quickly and are intense. Any tips appreciated!

Hey I also applied. I have a 2.9 GPA. I have 5.5 years of MICU experience. I have taken 3 graduate classes to try to help with that. I've heard the interviews are really hard and very clinical heavy.

Don't count yourself out! Get your CCRN and submit it! They take supplemental materials until the 21st. Especially after getting your CCRN, your chances of getting an interview are just as good as anyone else. I think everyone applying has struggled somewhere down the road. My biggest problem was working while going to school. I've never really been able to focus on just school so I have been saving like crazy for this so I don't have to stress about money and was trying to get that across in my essay. I do have my CCRN. And yes interviews are hard! My nerves got the best of me in each one. My last interview I thought went well actually but still was rejected. It's good to have an idea of when interviews will be though! I'm going to keep preparing too so hopefully if I get an interview I'll be ready and finally get a yes.

Thanks for the motivation! You'll get this time...fingers crossed. I think knowing how the interviews are conducted can help ease some of the anxiety!

Which graduate courses did you take? I've thought about taking advanced patho and pharm, I've also heard it helps a lot. Shows them you have "matured" since whatever caused the initial issue. Is this the only program you've applied to?

I took advanced pharmacology and the other two classes are Nurse practitioner classes that I took when I thought I wanted to do that. No I am applying to 5 other programs most look at your last 60 credits

Yes I have applied. I am hoping I get in this program as well as everyone else applying.

I also applied hoping to get in as well as everyone applying. This is the first time I hear about this program and how it works.

Hey...I hadn't heard about the program until right before I applied. I've read some information about it on this board but from what I'm seeing, I'm thinking it's just like applying to CRNA directly because most applicants have those same credentials and would be ready to start but for some reason or another they haven't been admitted.

Does anyone know of others that have applied and got in.

I know somebody that got in with the first cohort. She is currently at Case Western. She recommends the program.

Do you know their stats? I don't know of anyone who got into that program but I know of someone who didn't have a really high GPA who got into University of Cincinnati

Do they know how many they accept and how is the interview process.

Has anyone heard anything from the program yet?

Hey no I haven't heard anything. I figured they was on break and probably are just back looking over apps. I looked back at the other timelines but they pushed application deadline up for us.
