Nursing Students SRNA

Hello All!

Is anyone applying to the Summer 2024 LEAP program and has insight in the program and interview process? Applications are due in almost a month and from what I read the interviews come quickly and are intense. Any tips appreciated!

Hello

I will be applying. I spoke with somebody from the first cohort and she couldn't recommend this program enough. She said it was a great experience and she is doing well in her second year of CRNA school. I have completed everything for my application just waiting on my Graduate Pharmacology class to end in Dec.

I am curious where did you take your graduate pharmacology?

I am enrolled in U Mass. It is pricey.

How difficult would you say it is?

It hasn't been that difficult. Quiz weekly and discussion lost every other week and one paper.

Hi all,

I've applied and my application is currently under review! Would love to stay updated with you guys!

Submitted my application today, stressing over my essay, had to finally just hit send! Good luck!

Well the wait begins for us all. Does anyone have any idea when they will notify candidates selected for interviews? I don't think I'll get one this year, I just really needed to get the ball rolling and apply. If you don't mind me asking what are your stats?

I attended info session last month and while they didn't specify when notifications would happen they did say they were trying to do everything sooner to give those admitted more turn around time before the program starts in May. So hopefully by next month we'll hear something, fingers crossed. I have just under 3 years ICU experience, BSN GPA 3.44, part of my problem is I got a graduate degree in my previous career with a 2.79 GPA but it's old. I've applied to 5 anesthesia programs, had 3 interviews, and of course 0 admissions. Why do you think you won't get an interview?

Honestly, I'm not sure. Possibly because I keep hearing that it's so hard to get one. I have 5 years of ICU, 3.4 cumulative GPA, my nursing program admitted juniors so my nursing GPA 2.99 (had a family event which derailed my GPA for nursing school) and my science GPA is 3.9, I haven't taken the CCRN yet but I have it scheduled for 12/20. Do you have your CCRN? I emailed them earlier today and they replied already (I love that they are responsive), she stated interviews will be conducted in Febraury ?. Which means I'll go crazy until then. It's actually better this way because I'll spend the next two months preparing for a possible interview. Are the interviews really hard?

Don't count yourself out! Get your CCRN and submit it! They take supplemental materials until the 21st. Especially after getting your CCRN, your chances of getting an interview are just as good as anyone else. I think everyone applying has struggled somewhere down the road. My biggest problem was working while going to school. I've never really been able to focus on just school so I have been saving like crazy for this so I don't have to stress about money and was trying to get that across in my essay. I do have my CCRN. And yes interviews are hard! My nerves got the best of me in each one. My last interview I thought went well actually but still was rejected. It's good to have an idea of when interviews will be though! I'm going to keep preparing too so hopefully if I get an interview I'll be ready and finally get a yes.
