I am in my last semester and feel like I have never taken a nursing class in my life most of the time. I fight with the computer every day at clinical and feel like I forget as much as I remember sometimes. I am so scared maybe I am not meant to be a nurse at all. I really want to do a good job but feel lost most days. My skills aren't bad, but I just can't seem to make it all come together. Just needed to vent. Think I will have myself a good cry and pray I figure this out and have not made a huge mistake.

Hold your head up! Congrats on being in your last semester! As you just stated, your skills aren't bad and that is something to be proud of! You will need those skills in your first job as a new grad as you hone them to the specific practice you have chosen. Nursing school is to give you a general nursing education to begin your career on. You will keep building on that base.
Whatever is frustrating you or you seem to be having trouble with, you need to find resources for. These could be nurses at clinical, fellow students, your clincial instructor, etc. The computer stuff is frustrating wherever you go FYI!

hang in there, you made it this far, you'll finish. your drive to be the best you can be will serve you and your patients well. i've been doing this for 30 years and there are days when it's all i can do to stay up with the chaos, you'll have days like that. it's the reality of nursing. i work with new grads all the time. they often feel like you. in the big picture, there are only 3 goals to achieve each day you work....
1. no one dies that's not supposed to
2. those that are supposed to, die as peacefully as possible
3. you are standing upright at the end of your shift.
......when put like that, it's not so overwhelming. all the other bumps in the road of the day are put into perspective. believe in yourself and your skills. we've all been there......it works out.........honest!

I think one reason for your frustration is that you do not get to repeat what you do or learn before you are off on another task. Do not for a minute believe that clinical rotations will prepare you for real nursing. All it does is give you the big picture so you will have some idea of what to expect down the road. You will continue to learn after you go to workand it may be a year or more before you are comfortable in your skin. Meanwhile, breathe
Thank you so much for the encouragement. I am so glad that it is normal to feel this way. I am reevaluating myself and going back next week with a different strategy. I will not give up. I will follow this dream to the end.
mpccrn: you do put into perspective and your right! Thank you all so much for your support.:loveya:
