Late for orientation interview

I went for a nursing school interview yesterday. The interview was set for 12:20 but I had misread it as 12:40. I have read the email so many times and assured myself that it started at 12:40. I was even an hour and a half early at the campus. I just passed time at the coffee shop because I didn't want to get caught in traffic and be late.

Joke's on me! Before the interview, was an orientation. We were supposed to be 15 minutes early in order to do the orientation because the school utilized the MMI (Multiple Mini Interview style) and so they could provide information about it. So I was supposed to be there by 12:05 and I strolled in at 12:15.

I was dumbfounded! I could not believe I was the last one there. Fortunately I was not late for the interview part (Thank goodness).

I have been thinking about it all day and actually making myself feel nauseous.

How horrible is that I was late for the orientation. I knew about the process already because I had researched it and looked on pre-med forums.

Can you provide your opinions...

Also I want to send a thank you card to the school for giving me the opportunity to interview. Is that appropriate? Your thoughts would be great
