  1. For those who are entering UBC SON in September, it would be great to hear your feedback and helpful suggestions once you have been in the program for a bit. Information about what the orientation is like as well as how the classes / clinical is. Any information would be great. Thanks in advance.
  2. Hi Smiles, Thanks for the information. I also contact SON just to double check and I do begin in January. I just registered for courses yesterday, though I know it is really early. But I figured may as well when I was on the site. I look forward to meeting everyone in January. Have a great summer!
  3. I just looked on the UBC website and I paid my fee for registration. When I looked up my confirmation letter, it said that I was entered for Winter session 2008. But in the admittance offer email, it had said that I was accepted for January. I have not heard back from SON and am wondering if there was a mix up or something. Would those accepted, please tell me if all their letters say admitted for Winter session 2008? If I was attending in September, I would be a little shocked.
  4. Congratulations on getting accepted Michelle! That is great news and probably a huge relief. See you in January!
  5. Hello Codeblue, I am sorry to hear that you are on a wait list. Your stats were fantastic and I am surprised that you were not accepted in the first round. Were you able to get any feedback from them? Hopefully I will see you in September or January. Best of luck!
  6. HI Michelle, The last couple of years particularly 2006 and 2007, there were some people that were accepted in mid-July. I am sure that a few people will decline their offers especially if they got in somewhere else. I have no idea what the percentage of people who decline is. I would ask the nursing school about that. In regards to my interview, I found that I spent the majority of time answering the question and then had probably about three or four minutes to just chat. The chatting was great I found because the interviewers were genuinely nice. One interviewer even talked to me about my travels and told me about an author that she really enjoyed reading. I found that all the interviewers were so nice, that I figured that anything I would say, they would say good job, thanks. So I didn't think to take much from it. I agonized over what I had said . I tried to think of my points and then say a coherent answer. Though sometimes it seemed that I answered rather quick, say three to four minutes and I would be asked if I wanted to add anything. That made me feel really nervous. I wish you the best, I understand the feeling of waiting and agonizing. I hope you hear soon.
  7. Hi Michelle, Thanks for letting me know about switching the intake date, I am going to request a change. In the letter that they emailed, it said that the deadline for acceptance was July 4th. After that , the offer would be passed on to someone else. I am mailing in my letter today. I hope you hear back soon, good luck. I know how it feels to be on pins and needles. Good luck!
  8. Hello! Congrats on getting in as well. I am also in for January! I am so very relieved! Have a great summer! Do you know if and we can switch into the September intake?
  9. Hi Michelle, I did my interview on the 5th of June. I received notification via email yesterday. I hope that you hear soon.
  10. I just received my acceptance email from UBC for the nursing program!! I am super super excited! Gosh I have been nervous for so long now and finally, acceptance!!! Good luck to everyone who applied.
  11. Thanks for the encouraging words. I was making myself feel ill from over-thinking it. I really hope that it is not a deciding factor in over whether I get accepted into the program. I really hope that they get back to us soon though. All the anxiety!!
  12. I went for a nursing school interview last week. The interview was set for 12:20 but I had misread it as 12:40. I have read the email so many times and assured myself that it started at 12:40. I was even an hour and a half early at the campus. I just passed time at the coffee shop because I didn't want to get caught in traffic and be late. Joke's on me! Before the interview, was an orientation. We were supposed to be 15 minutes early in order to do the orientation because the school utilized the MMI (Multiple Mini Interview style) and so they could provide information about it. So I was supposed to be there by 12:05 and I strolled in at 12:15. I was dumbfounded! I could not believe I was the last one there. Fortunately I was not late for the interview part (Thank goodness). I have been thinking about it so much and actually making myself feel nauseous. Do you think that I will not get in because I was late for the orientation? How horrible is that I was late for the orientation. I knew about the process already because I had researched it and looked on pre-med forums. Can you provide your opinions... Also I want to send a thank you card to the school for giving me the opportunity to interview. Is that appropriate? Your thoughts would be great
