My only advice would be to get a good stethoscope since you will learn vital signs. In the assessment you should learn how to ascultate the heart, lungs, and bowel sounds. Take advantage of the lab hours to practice so you can ace skills checkoffs
Classwork is pretty easy in the first semester. Just come to class prepared every day and you should do fine. My program moved quickly and that was my major adjustment. Reading multiple chapters after class and then having a test that week.
Don't let me scare you. It will be fun. If you haven't already I'd recommend learning your learning style. And in nursing school "C means continue". People get upset because they are used to making straight As. Nursing school isn't harder really, you have to change your study habits to apply information and not just memorize it.
Good luck! I remember that feeling. Its awesome :)
Thank you so much for that information!
