Starting this thread for those applying to LaSalle for 2026 🙂
It is interesting to me how much stake they took in the prior cohort's opinions, when it was clear they didn't even interact much. The first and second year students seemed to meet first today. Ultimately, "interviewing" ~60 people for 16-18 spots, this felt inappropriate. I hope for the best for everyone, but how will they differentiate us off of the information provided today? I am unsure.

I thought there would be some 1:1 time with the faculty to actually get to know me as a future colleague/student.the large interview was so impersonal to me. Like I get a small group of (2-6) but 10+ people and it's with a student panel only ... and those student were novice themselves and sitting in my same position last year and why should their input really matter that much for them to run the entire interview?
IDK I have mixed feelings.
I got some good 1:1 time with the director and the DNP professor. I thought the current students were encouraging during the sim lab. And the questions I received and all of the other candidates in my panel interview were EI, personality questions. I didn't think I was getting drilled and from what both previous years students I spoke to said that the program really values and cares for their students. I don't think they are basing the whole interview off the panel interview but, I think they take it into consideration. It also could have just been to break us up a bit since there was a lot of us there at one time. Also, we did receive a video interview already so I think they already have a good idea of how we respond to questions.

I felt personally, I didn't like how we didn't get interviewed by the actual faculty. I understand students having input but doing the entire interview was bizarre and the mini exam was definitely a wild card 🙇🏼♂️
Wild you have the exact same user name as me 🤯🤯🤯
I think faculty already interviewed us when we did our videos. I think this was just a chance for us to see the facilities and talk to students and see if we acted differently than in front of students.

It was hard to get a real sense of how we were being evaluated, especially with so little interaction. It almost felt more like a social test than a traditional interview. But they may be trying something new out, because I heard last year they didn't do video interviews at all.
I would def agree that I think they're taking many things into consideration and not basing it off the 1-2 questions asked by the student panel. The director seems like an unconventional guy that likes to do things differently so I thought the experience we had today was very refreshing. We're all well qualified on paper to be good enough and with a small cohort personality is really important I would say so I can understand why that seems to be a big part of this whole evaluation. It does make it hard to gauge where we stand tho since it's not objective questions or assessments that we've mostly been judged on

I definitely see what you're saying. Asking one question isn't really enough to get to know someone. Plus it was really hard asking everyone questions during the sim lab. I spent the entire time asking one person questions and I never really got the opportunity to ask others. Overall I felt like I did fine during both sessions but I still feel as though it was an interesting interview approach. Hoping for the best though!
