LaSalle Achieve Fall 2013

Published

For years, I was reluctant to apply to LaSalle while finishing my pre-reqs at CCP. I guess I was intimidated, countless people told me to apply...but I put it off, fearing rejection. May 2012, I finally applied...studied for the NLN on-and-off the entire summer...received a high overall score on the entrance exam over 100... Sci. GPA of 3.25, Overall: 3.13. Received my "Congratulations/favorable consideration letter" from LaSalle in Sept (2012) and have been living vicariously through current students in the program now.

I have signed up for the last of my required pre-reqs at LaSalle so I can get a "feel" of their grading style and going to a large university. I know the official nursing acceptance letters won't go out until May 2013, and I shouldn't get my hopes up ...but I've worked so hard (and will continue to!) and hope that things will continue to work out favorably.

Has anyone else received their "Congratulations/favorable consideration letter"? Does that letter mean, if we continue on doing well and meet the required deadlines...that it "should" work out in our favor? Oh the anxiety...well I'll be practicing my conversions and studying.

Take away message: Don't get in your own way...and everything and anything is possible if you give it your all!

Intending Nursing, Fall 2013

I will still let you know if I am accepted or rejected lol and I got a mail from GMC, all my credit transferred

Ok

I'm just waiting on Gwynedd Mercy. So at least I will have two options..Good luck on your career too!!

How much is GMC weekend program?

I dont really know but I think with ya scholarship, you should be owing 7 to 8k..do u still receive mails from lasalle regarding winter information and financial aid stuff..I recieved a couple of them recently. The reason why I want to know is whether I still have a good shot at this school. Thanks

That is per year if u maintain 3.5 including financial aid package with an EFC of zero

Ok the admissions officer told me its 10k a year. So that's 20k for two yrs and harcum is 23k for 18 months. GMC will make a decision by next week. No I don't recieve any emails from Lasalle

I'm really undecided cause I work m-f pt and wondering if I'm able to handle a 5pm-10pm classes than get home late, than go to work next day. Well penty of ppl did it so can I

Two years seem so long for a ASN if I start Fall 2014. I guess I will be finished Fall 2016 seems long. I think the weekend program would be intense. But I heardb GMC is a good nursing school thou.

Believe me, you have to make this decision based on your schedule. As for me before I can decide which school to go to; I will have to hear from my other schools which mostly first week of April latest

My advice would look at the nclex pass rate. A friend of mine went to gmc and ended up failing a nursing class, go discouraged and switched majors.
