Las vegas CNA trainning

Published

Hey guys

I am currently working my way through getting into a RN program but Its gonna take quite a bit of time; Meanwhile i was thinking of getting a CNA certification for the experience and probably making a bit of a living. I went to the CSN East health counselor for some infos. Turns out the total tuition would amount to about $1,000 and takes a about 2 months. I was curious if there are any other choices out there ? I would like to get my certification as fast and inexpensive as possible.

So What are the other options i have for CNA trainning in las vegas ? I also heard there could be a way to get a certification without actually attending classes and all that. any details on those opportunities ?

Thank you for the time!!

You could try contacting community colleges in the area. Their tuition for CNA courses is typically much cheaper than private universities (which are sometimes around $3000+). Sometimes long-term care facilities (LTCs) will offer free training if you agree to work for them for a certain period of time afterwards. In Las Vegas, though, I would think such opportunities would be harder to come by and the programs more competitive.

There is no way for you to get certified without attending SOME class, somewhere. You could bypass the CNA course if you were already in nursing school and had completed a fundamentals of nursing course. Otherwise, there is no option but to attend class. Some facilities may hire you without certification for a limited period of time, but you would eventually have to complete the CNA course anyway in order to keep the job.
