Family doctor for blood work. Local health unit for the shots.
I got my requisition for blood work and x-ray(even though i need a tb skin test 1st)from a walkin doctor so I went yesterday to bcbiomedical to get my blood work done and asked specifically for the tests theyll be doing and found out that MMR test is missing and that a herpes test is included! Surprised, i went back to the doc to confirm what HZV-Igg means and found out that its chicken pox. During our discussion at biomedical, i blurted out that its for school and that they are charging me $85 for the test but the lady told me that i can do it somewhere else and wont charge as long as i do not say that its for school. And x-rays r $75. So i went home thinking where to get all of this tests for free. ugh...

Hey!
How long did it take for you guys to get accepted? I heard there is a really long wait list?! Also, what were your GPA's (if you don't mind me asking).
Thanks!
I applied october 2012, got accepted march 2013 for sept intake. I have 3.14 GPA upon application. Langara has new curriculum as long as u satisfy the requirements...it shoudnt take that long.
Thanks for the reply :)
How are you finding/liking the program? Is it really hands on? Is it tough not having a summer off?
Sorry for all the questions, i'm just very curious and would love to hear any feedback!
Its alright...first term is saturated with theory. I found it brutal coz I havent had 6 courses in one semester. Its better for you to take all pre-requisites first before gettin into the program to make ur life easier. Term 2 was like being a care aide. Next term's our first hospital experience. Exciting and scary at the same time. Are u accepted already?
I've applied for the winter 2015 intake, so my fingers are crossed! I'm currently at Douglas College and just completed all of my pre-reqs this semester. I'm trying to figure out which is a better program: Langara or Douglas. But basically it boils down to whichever I can get into first!
So would you recommend the program at Langara from what you've experienced so far? Congrats on your progress by the way
