Landed first interview in a hospital EVER after looking for a position for 1 year!

Hello nurses! I am so happy to have finally landed my first interview at a hospital after searching for a solid year! Now, let's hope I get the job. I am relocating from NY to the Charlotte area very soon and received an opportunity to meet with Carolinas Specialty Hospital located within Mercy Hospital. I am aware that it is a Long-term Acute Care hospital, but am willing to take on the challenge. I only have RN experience at a clinic, but am so excited to have been given the chance to meet with them. any advice for me? Do hospitals train their nurses to start IV's? Here in NY they do not train us in school. should I get certified before even going into the interview? It's in about a month. Any advice would be appreaciated, thank you all in advance!

congrats! some facilities requiring an IV insertion certification process while others just teach you on the fly. it wouldn't hurt you to learn now though! good luck!

Congrats! I wish you the best of luck!! I got hired at a Rehab facility in Raleigh after looking for what seemed like ages, and they just taught me on the fly about IV insertions. We don't do to many where I work at as most people end up getting PICC lines, but I have done a few of them. They didn't teach me in school either. I went to school in TN. I hope you get the job! :)
