Lakeview College of Nursing Fall 2012

Published

I'm starting at Lakeview College of Nursing in Fall 2012 at Danville campus. I'm a california girl and know it'd be a culture shock. If anyone is attending this fall and want a roommate, please contact me. Or if anyone has any advice/tips from moving out of your home state for school, it'd be greatly appreciated!

I'm super excited but nervous at the same time.

Thank you!

Hi there! I just wanted to say congrats for being accepted into the program. I attend Lakeview as well, however, I am at the Charleston campus. I will be in my final semester this fall!!! The program is great, although difficult at times. The biggest piece of advice I have to give you both is DON"T GIVE UP! I won't lie to you...there are times you will feel that you can't do it...but you can! I feel the first semester is the hardest because you are just getting used to nursing school, the NCLEX type tests, and the course load but I promise you that it gets better. If you have any questions you can always PM me...I am more than happy to answer any questions you may have. Again, Congrats and good luck! :yeah:

Thank you so much for the encouragement! I know it will be hard but I'm not giving up. DO you have any studying tips? What you wish you knew when you first started program? I can't pm you yet but my email is [email protected]

Hi! I am also attending ABSN program at Lakeview's Danville Campus and I was told by one of their students that the area near the Danville campus is not the best area to live in so I was wondering if you guys had any tips or suggestions that you would give based on your research since I am also not from Illinois? I'll appreciate any help at all...Thanks!

TLH1999, I will be attending Lakeview at the Danville campus this fall, and was wondering what was the hardest class for you during the first semester? Also, any advice for us new nursing students? What should we do to be successful in our first semesters?? Thanks so much!

Hi lynz06!

I am applying for the upcoming spring semester. I already have a BS degree and am hoping to get accepted for the accelerated track. I am aware that after being accepted to the nursing program and completing my first semester, I must maintain a 3.0 GPA to be allowed to continue with the accelerated track. Can you provide me with some details about how you managed your course load/clinicals?
