Labor and delivery question

Published

I spent last week in L&D and my patient had reached the peak range in her contractions, which was 250, but 250 what I'm not sure. Does anyone who works in L&D know what the 250 is measured as?? I do know that once she reached this level she was able to start pushing. Thank you!

I would guess mm Hg, but I'm making that up. Internal monitor?

how was she being monitored? if it was just externally on the toco, that doesnt really give you much information. The peaks can vary between woman to woman and weight and position of the toco makes a big difference on how a woman's contractions look on the monitor. Internal monitoring is the only real way you can measure the strength.

Yes, it was an internal monitor.

Yes, Internal.

I think all pressure is measured in mm Hg.
