Labor and delivery nurse

How much does a Ob-Gyn nurse make. I am living in the S.F Bay Area in california. Just curious. I am interested in going into this field of nursing not because of how much it would pay because this is one field I am sure I would enjoy doing. When I was in labor I had such nice nurses and they seemed so relaxed and they made me feel better I began to feel close with them.

I'm fairly sure that all new RN's make similar amounts no matter which area they choose to work in. With you being in California, the rate of pay is going to be a bit higher (probably around $30/hr).....but then again the cost of living is out of control. I hear many students claim that L&D is the only specialty they want to practice in.....but it isn't all happy Mom's and babies! :D Good luck to you!!

I make the same as every other nurse in my facility - no more, no less and we are not paid more based on one certain area or another.

Same here. Although, I'm per-diem now and make more than full or part-time RNs partly because I don't receive benefits anymore (we use my husbands).

Same here... all new grads start out the same...
