Anyone Ever work at This Facility ? Any Knowlege of the area ? I am considering a travel assignment there and they didn't do a phone interview/screening. So I didn't have an opportunity to ask any questions , I would appreciate any help you all could offer .

i didn't accept the assignment coz they say the facility doesn't conduct phone interview . besides they can't give me the nurse patient ratio.as in no info at all just MS jail...i was so lucky that i didn't get that esp now that they are having riots there and i 'm really enjoying my fist assignment now..

USC isn't having riots there, not sure where you got that information. California has ratios in place.

I think they mean the prison riots that have been going on

The prison riots are actually north of there, no where near that hospital, actually just about 15 miles north of where I live.

My friend worked in the ICU there last spring and hated it. The nurse manager was a jerk and had this "I can schedule you whenever I want" attitude, even though her contract said every other weekend. As a rule of thumb, I never go anywhere that doesn't interview because you don't know what you are getting into. 13 weeks goes very slow when you are torrured.

I am currently doing a contract at another county facility, and there have been absolutely no issues with my schedule. They are extremely fair about it. And I did a phone interview with them before I accpeted the position.

Did I say ALL county facilities?? Nooooo, I am specifically talking about USC LA county hospital, which she was working for OA there, because I almost went there and they don't do phone screenings, at least last year they didn't. Plus I have a friend who has lived in LA fo 30 years who has worked at alot of hospitals and LA County and MLK are on her hell hole list. I haven't spoke with an employee or traveler yet who liked it there except maybe OR positions
