So i have taken the TABE test at La puente yesterday and got a call back yesterday that I was chosen to retake the tabe test electronically and was still eligible to make the july 2014 lvn program. I suppose la puente adult school wants to start testing electronically and chose myself and five others to survey the "electronic test" for free as well as have an opportunity for the lvn program.

Now here is the REAL reason for this post. My scores was 10+ in math, 12+ in spelling, 10+ language and 5+ in reading?? how did i get 5th grade level in reading? i felt so confident about all the subjects except for APPLIED MATH. Now i checked out the TABE level A booklet at the library to prepare me for the test and let me just say NOTHING I studied was on the test. True, their were a few percentage, decimal, fractions, like 15 questions but the APPLIED MATH was only all word problems related to geometry , cube, area and and graphs.

I need some help!!!....i need to get a 12+ on all subjects and excited yet nervous. I realized my problem is reading the word problems and translating to equations to solve. One of the word problems said " Find what line intersects with ABCD" and had a 3-D cube posted.

Can anyone give advice on the applied math or word problems in general? the test is 25 questions in 25 minutes.. Thanks in advance :)
