L&D Shadowing~ Ideal number of hours~ suggestions?

Published

Hi all,

I am new to posting and hope this is in the right spot.

I am finishing my second semester of nursing school and would ideally like to get a job in Labor and Delivery when I graduate, with the long term goal of becoming a mid-wife.

I currently have an opportunity to shadow in labor and delivery this summer and the charge nurse would like to know the number of hours I seek. I would like as many as possible but I know they have students and other people who would like to shadow so I want to provide her with at least a minimum number.

How many hours would look good on my resume considering my goals. I was thinking 60-80. Does that sound appropriate? Any advice about this, or any suggestions about resume building for this goal would be greatly appreciated.
