L&D RN

Hello All!, I'm seriously contemplating taking a Cali travel assignment. I've been a L&D nurse for 7 years. Are there any hospitals mid-north California I should avoid at all cost? I know there's good and bad every where we work but I'm really nervous about the unfamiliar. I appreciate any comments on travel L&D nursing.

    Hey Ned! I have the same question. Im an L&D nurse and I just applied for my CA license because there seem to be more jobs out there. I want to know which hospitals are bad too.

    You didn't miss anything, my PM had nothing to do with the topic.

    Addressing the topic, generally you have to rely on finding good recruiters. They have history with their hospitals and they certainly get feedback from their travelers! A good recruiter depends on building up long term travelers, and that doesn't happen if you slam your travelers into a bad assignment without giving them a heads up.

    That is much more reliable than getting information from a traveler forum. I love forums for information exchange, but finding a traveler that has been to a hospital you are interested in recently, and in your specialty is unlikely. So talking to lots of agencies and recruiters and finding recruiters you work well with is the most important factor in successful travel. I'm not saying anything new here as I usually write this at least once a day!
