I'm a new grad who's had her RN license for three months and has been unable to land a nursing job due to the lack of openings in her area, let alone in L&D.
I am willing to relocate for an L&D position, but I don't know where in the U.S. is in particular need for nurses in L&D and will take a new grad.
Anyone have any insight?
Thanks!

Do you have your BSN? Have you been applying everywhere or just to L&D? If you're just focusing on one particular specialty, the more difficulty you'll have landing a job. New grads can get hired into L&D but it's not easy.
I started in progressive care, not because it was my first choice but it was an income and valued experience. After a year, I transferred to our Women's hospital. My hospital is Magnet and only hires BSNs.

You have to apply to any and all jobs in any and all states, to be honest. If you're willing to relocate for L&D, you need to be willing to relocate for any job. I was offered the job at my current hospital, in my home state, the same day I was offered a job in Atlanta, GA. If I had gotten the job offer at home even a day later, I would now be living 20 hours away from my family and friends.
Best of luck!
