The school I go to doesn't have a limit on retaking prereqs - MCC in Rochester, NY. You have to have a C - 2.0 to be considered for nursing school, but higher is better. You can retake your prereqs but you will lose points. Getting accepted is based on a point system, so it may not be beneficial to retake the class.
Honestly the reason most colleges have requirements for GPAs on classes such as Anatomy, etc. is that they know based on history, that if you can't get at least the required GPA, you have a lower chance of passing the nursing classes. So that is something you also need to think about. You will be taking all that you learned in your prereqs and trying to apply them to a patient.
Is it just one class that you are having trouble with? Are you improving with the next retake? Have you thought about a tutor?

In my school you have to have a 2.7 gpa and also you could only have up to 3 retakes for any prerequsite courses. Does anyone know any schools that doesn't have a limit on how many prerequisites you take as long as the gpa is good to enter the nursing program?
