Key concepts of science for Nursing Career

Published

Hello everyone. I thought it would be a great idea to start a topic, on the key concepts from all science courses taken by pre nursing students who are now nurses, or are very near on being a nurse (whether it be clinical phase, about-to-graduate phase, just got into nursing school phase, or whatever it may be), and would like to emphasize for us current pre-nursing students to focus on more so than other things. For example, there was a story or topic that I just read on this site mentioning something about how Nurses should know the concept of osmolarity for IV solutions or something like that.

I'm taking Anatomy and Physiology 1 right now and we are now coming to that along with the Circulatory system. I didn't focus too much on that, but I will be going back to it just so I know for future references.

Anyway, that is just one example. If anyone else who is a Nurse, and is working in the field, and discovered they were using something they learned during their pre reqs and had a "Oh wow, glad I went over that back during my school days so knowing it now helps me in my career" moment, please share.

Here is a thread on all nurses that addresses this question. Hopefully you find some helpful information.
