Kent State Nursing Program?

I just applied for the accelerated cohort for Summer 2014. I'm a wreck because this is my dream and I want to so badly. My grades are good but I'm afraid that they won't consider my previous work as experience in a related field. I was a hospital chaplain for a little while and a minister for longer where I spend lots of time in hospitals though it wasn't hands on patient care. Anyway. I was just looking for others who have gone to KSU or who are waiting to hear about any program or whatever. :)

Just a way to converse and pass the time and distract myself. Anyone?

KSU!!! I do not go to main. I go to one of the branches. If main won't take you, you could always apply to another branch! I like going to the branch because it is close to my home and it is WAYYYYYYYY cheaper than going to main. Not to mention I HATE driving to Kent. :sarcastic:

I really like the program so far except for the uniforms - Who wants to wear all white? Ick. In the long run though, if that's all I've got to complain about then I'm not going to be that upset. I am in the second semester of my sophomore year. I feel like time is already flying. I am hoping to graduate in Dec '15 (the branches have kind of a separate accelerated program), but even May '16 will not be bad. Glad to see another possible Kent Stater on here!! GOOD LUCK

I went to a KSU branch and loved it. I am doing my RN-BSN through them right now. I agree that the regional campuses are half the prices as the main campus, but do whatever works for you. When I applied 3 years ago they only went by grades, but maybe it's different since you are going for ABSN.

My advice is to stay optimistic and not to question everything that they have you do. Most people that I went to school with would complain constantly "why do we have to do this? why do we have to do that, it's just a waste of time!". Instead of being one of those people try to see the value in what they are having you do. Your education is what you make it and it relies in your hands! Good luck!!!

Which campus do you attend for your nursing program?
