I lived in Akron, OH my whole life until I moved to MO two years ago. I am now in my first year of an ADN program here. Kent State is a great school, and has a very competitive nursing program. Congrats on getting in!!! The area is very nice, and there are lots of hospitals that you could work at PRN as a patient care tech till you get out of school if you want. (SUMMA Health System is a great place to work.) I know when I was thinking of applying there there were lots of non-traditional students. I am one myself, so I will keep you in my prayers-You are going to have a fun time!!!!! If you have any more specific questions, message me. I know what neighborhoods are good to live in ect.

i'm still learning this message board - how do you send a private message?

I think you click on the person's name and go from there.

You will really like the Kent area. My son just moved back there. Kent State is really a good school. Congrats on getting in. College Towers right across from the campus has fairly cheap apartments, but some of them are not in such good condition. Good luck. :nuke:

Hi-

I was wondering what your stats were that got you into Kent's accelerated program. I have a 3.44 undergrad and a 4.0 in prereqs. I have some volunteer experience but I haven't worked directly with patients. I have no idea if I am competitive or not. Any insight you could give would be great!
