Kent State Accelerated BSN Fall 2014

U.S.A. Ohio

Published

Hey,

Is anyone else applying for the Accelerated BSN program at Kent State for the Fall of 2014? I am getting anxious as the deadline approaches for the application.

What is your average cumulative GPA and science GPA?

Did anyone else get an interview?

I have an interview scheduled for today. My cumulative GPA is a 3.095 and my pre-req GPA is a 3.4. I have been working as an STNA for over 2 years. I am extremely nervous about being accepted... Any advice?

yes I did! Mine is later today. Good Luck!

Hopefully everyones interviews went fantastic!! Any advice? Im so nervous its making me ill.

I just gave my interview today..!!! I was so nervous. I shouldnt have been though, because the interviewers seemed so nice.

I got accepted!

Has anyone who has been in the program before elaborate one financial aid? Are we eligible for grants? Did you pay out of pocket? Types of loans? Any help would be great!

Seeing the letter of intent with the exceeding $30,000 cost was a little intimidating!

Does anyone know about on-campus housing -- like when we can sign up for dorms and which dorms/apartments we are able to stay in?

I got accepted as well !!! :)

I would suggest off campus housing. There are plenty of apartments near by. On-campus is super expensive. You could look into campus pointe I had a friend that just graduated from the program that lived there. It's furnished so that's a nice perk. It's a little pricey, I think about $550 a month a person, but you do get your own bathroom.

Thanks for the suggestion - I'll look into Campus Pointe! Has everyone completed all the blue courses? Do you know if we can take them any semester throughout the year?

Hi guys! I was accepted too! I'm also trying to figure out housing (I'm not from the area) so if anyone knows of anything out there let me know!

Craigslist is a good place to look for apartments.

Check my previous posts in this thread for some advice on the program.

As far as cheap off campus housing- Kent is like any college town and will abuse students for rent. College Towers is cheap, safe and the closest to the nursing building (Henderson Hall), but is not the nicest units around. Campus pointe, University Edge, etc are all pricier and furnished but very new and nice. Look in Stow/Streetsboro for nice quality apartments at about $200 cheaper, but be prepared for a busy 20 minute commute with terrible traffic and a $150 campus parking permit each semester
