Keiser University and financial aid

If you've been to or are going to Keiser and have financial aid I'd appreciate some help.

I've been slowly but surely working towards becoming a nurse over the last few years. I'll have all my pre-reqs and an AA degree soon to enter any nursing program in the east central Florida area. The schools here are hard to get into but...well, sometimes when you want to get from point A to point B you have to take a toll road. I'm going to apply to all the programs around here and if I don't get accepted Keiser is my back up plan.

I know Keiser can be paid for via finaid (loans) but do you (the student) get any of that money or does it all go to Keiser?

To go to school I would not only have to give up my part time job but put 3 children in day care. Without the extra from finaid for living expenses I don't know if we could afford that option.

Thanks for any information any of you have!

I am not sure about the aid, you would have to call Keiser, but you should see if you can transfer your credits to that school, because a friend of mine tried to transfer her credits to another school from there and they are non transferable, she would have to go back to that school. Where she is $20,000 in debt.

GOOD LUCK

Thanks!

I'm getting my AA degree and all prereqs (for any FL BSN or RN program) first. Unfortunately a lot of people don't realize the credits from a private college might not transfer. I don't know if they were doing it before but now Keiser clearly states on their website that their credits may not transfer.

I'm hoping to get into a public university or a CC first but Keiser is my alternative plan (rather than waiting year after year to apply to the others).

The only base I don't have covered is the living expenses.

I would contact Keiser but they're for profit and I know they'll be hounding me to enroll if I contact them. I called them for information a few years back and they were constantly calling me for months afterward.
