Keeping sick kids in school

Found this article to be very familiar and wondering others experiences.  I have been asked to call many families recently with high absentee rates and try to get them to bring their mildly sick kids to school.  Similarly, we no longer widely distribute a list of reasons to keep kids home since many of the prior reasons (rash, sore throat, cough, pink eye) are now more nuanced.  Teachers are also pushing back but it is true we have had huge learning loss, most profoundly with our low income/families of color.
