I am usually pretty bad at interviews, but yesterday was by far the worst. For the first time, I felt like I really wanted this job. It was PCT position for a hospital.
The first interviewer actually said that I seemed nervous and that made it even worse.
It was one on one and she did her best to make me comfortable but I just couldn't think straight. I had the hardest time answering questions that I prepared for, to the point where I was just winging it. My brain was thinking one thing and my mouth was saying the opposite.
The second interview was right after the first one. This time though there were two people interviewing me at the same time. One was a clinical manager and the other an RN. I got so nervous with one asking me and the other looking at judging me. My mind just went out of control and I started to bs. By the end, the RN didnt shake my hand and turned her back and said nice to meet you and left. I felt crushed.
This isnt the first interview I have done. Although I havent done many either. But I seem to be getting worse. Is my anxiety gonna ruin me forever?

Awe, I so sorry to hear you feel crushed. Do you have any family or friends that you can ask to do a mock interview with you? Having some experience. Even if just with friends, may be able to help you feel more at ease and put you into a groove. Look up some typical interview questions from this website and have your mom or whoever ask them to you, then have her give you tips.
As some encouragement, I'm a pretty poor interviewee as well. I have been lucky though and had some jobs where they barely asked me any questions and just told me what they expected. I loved those, and you may luck out. If you apply for nursing homes, often times they don't give you a formal interview, the nurse manager just asks you a few casual questions at the nurses station. Other times, the interviewer can have a personality that resonates with you and you immediately feel at ease.
So don't let a couple of interviews get you down. We all have crappy ones. Persevere! Good luck to you.
