KCC LPN TO RN TRANSITION

U.S.A. Hawaii

Updated:   Published

Hello,

I'm finishing up my prerequisites and my stats could be better... I would like to hear from students of the past, present and future. Is the transition program at kcc, super competitive? How many times did you apply before getting accepted? Are you a resident of Oahu? ( because locals are first pick), how many ppl were/are in your cohort ? MOST IMPORTANTLY what are your stats?

thanks for the info ?

I am a graduate of KCCs lpn and lpn to adn transition program. LPN cohort was about 15 students. I believe 13 of us applied for the lpn to adn bridge immediately after graduation and only 4 of us got in the upcoming semester. The remaining cohort applied for the next round and EVERYONE from my cohort was accepted. Cohort was entirely made up of local residents.

I doubt lpn classes count a whole lot toward ranking system because our lpn valedictorian was not one of the 4 students that got in immediately.

Stats? I applied with one C the remaining was As and Bs with a teas score of 79.

Thanks so much for providing some input/info on the transition program.. I’ve heard so many mixed reviews about applying with a C or two and not getting in or being a military exempt resident and not being considered.

Guess I’ll go for it and hope for the best.
